i would like to say that carmen chu is interested and has hearings on this matter, and she will take interest in this discussion, with a lot of feedback about the application and the enrollment has been very positive and people are happy to see how this process is unfolding itself. we want to say that this is something that the city has brought up over time, and the school district has and a great job of changing management, to get that to this place. and are there any questions? any questions that you have? >> thank you, supervisor. i just want to commend the staff. this is the first time i have taken a the look at handbook. i also wanted to mention around transportation, that there are other, since we will be having a direct correlation between this and with the children live, giving preference to those children who were attending a child development center, and decide to attend an elementary school -- that these programs such as safe passages and all of those things that the city funded by actually grade for the community. we have one that is very active, in the tenderloin. people

and then supervisor carmen chu wants, and part of our outreach is to outline, what really do the credits and deductions need and what does that look like in dollars and cents. so that's something we'll work on, as well. my hope is that by the end of the year we really have this program ready to go, rolled out, launched, and then we'll be working on our outreach plans. and then's couple of calendar notes. the san francisco council of district merchants has their annual dinner on october 14. october 26, the healthcare reform task force met again. at this point, there's nothing critical for me to report to you. we're still working out some interpretation definitions, guidelines of where the task force is going to focus. i did make note that i did meet with h. herman from the barbary coast conservancy of american cocktail. san francisco is a city that's renowned for being the creators of cocktails so he's interested in working with the city to figure out how best we can promote cocktail week and the fact, just as we were working with the alcohol recovery fee and talking about microbreweries

i'll just congratulate carmen chu of district 4 who ran uncontested, so we know she won. they did a preliminary run of the ranked choice ballots in san francisco with these races, and a couple of -- you know, a couple of caveats. a big one is it's not over till it's over. the elections chief was very clear, this might just give you a glimpse of who might win. but it looks like that jane kim, who's the president of the board of education, it looks like she might win in district 6. she's been ahead since election night. she did well in the preliminary count of ranked choice. scott weiner, deputy city attorney of san francisco, has been big in democratic party politics. looks like he won in district 8, which is the castro district. still up in the air in district 10, the southeast part of the city, bayview, hunter's point. 21 candidates on that. they're still very close, even with the ranked choice votes going. malia cohen is now kind of inching ahead if you do that. and the other one, in district 2, it looks like mark ferrell, investment banker, political newcomer. looks li
