brandon carroll was shot in the stomach and killed this morning near frostburg state university where he was a sophomore and basketball player. police say it involved a dispute among students who did know each other. brandon lived in waldorf. we have video showing where he lived. no one was home at his house. his family did leave earlier presumably to go to frostburg. brandon graduated from thomas stone in 2008. we are told he was a standout basketball player and captain of the team. police did make an arrest, a 21-year-old student tyrone hall has been charged with murder. he is accused of shooting and wounding another student, a southwest d.c. resident. that student is expected to survive this attack. the university issued a statement today. it says in part the entire frostburg state university community is terribly saddened and shocked by this incident. our thoughts and prayers with with his family and friends as well as ellis hartridge with hopes for his full recovery. the suspect in the case did appear in court. he was ordered held without bond. police were able to recover the 12

carroll county out through frederick and washington county. going to be gusty and stormy in baltimore tonight, too. here's the severe thunderstorm warning, directly to our west and several going up across pennsylvania here. basically the big concern with these, going to be gusty winds, 40 to 50 miles per hour. also there will be lightning to deal with on these. take a look at maryland's most powerful radar, you can see this line, until you zoom in it doesn't look super impressive necessarily but let's do that, as we go into tighter here this is some very gusty wind packed into the southern tip of this line of storms here. tracking down the i-70 corridor, and you can see here as we give you a 3d tilt, a lot of the heavy storm activity is to our north. put the radar in motion and you can see the lightning strikes on the southern end of this. so more of this is going to end up being a pennsylvania issue, but we will get clipped by some of the stormy weather. some of these cells south of us could pick up in intensity as well, so we'll be tracking
