i know you do a great johnny carson impression as well. >> yeah, i used to put johnny carson in like,much that i used to pretend to be johnny carson selling shoes. i say that because you are embraced by johnny carson. i mean, what more do you need to hear when johnny carson says that? >> well, that is true, although i tell the story in my book about johnny carson because, you know, it is such a great story, having been on the show now with the new regime of jimmy fallon taking over. it kind of has a whole new luster to it, but what i talk about in the book is that the johnny carson experience was fantastic, but what i talk about is it took me 22 auditions to theon the show, and i raise story because so much of business, so much of the comedy business is stick to it this -- ck-to-it-ness, at after times seven, it is a little bit like, come on, guys, you are not loving me, but each time, i thought that would be the time to put me over the goal line, and number 22 did. this many years later, i am glad i did, because to get on the tonight show with johnny carson, to interface with greats like that -- i figured you would tell the story, but how does someone keep their focus when it takes 22 tries to mak

carson questions and hear the responses. were you surprised by the attention you received following the 2013 national prayer breakfast? why do you think you struck such a chord? >> yeah, i didn't expect it to be quite to that level. i knew something special was going to happen when i was asked to do it because i had spoken 16 years earlier at the peer bre breakfast when clinton was there. i didn't thing anybody did it twice and they said one person had and that was billy graham. so i figured the good lord had something he wanted me to say. i didn't know what it was until the morning of the breakfast. i didn't expect to to be so deep and abiding. all of those people giving up on america are feeling they are not the only one and maybe there is common sense and logic and hope. i think there are a lot of people who could represent that same thing. i am very much hoping that one of those people come along soon and you know who real understands the constitution, who understands freedom and what true freedom is all about, who under

they spent a night on the lake, that, where carson and one of the others went across. he named the island, disappointment island. it was not fremont island until in 1849, 1850.y we moved down to the south end of the lake and are standing between the modern salt air and the great salt lake. going to talk little bit about recreation. great salt lake has always been a triassic and attraction to forests and it was no different in the 19th century. the original mormon pioneers shortly after arriving in the valley, bathed in the lake. it was famous as america's dead sea. not beginfeldman did until the 1870's. the most famous of all was the salt air. what you see behind us is the modern generation of the salt air for this building wasn't built until the early 1980's. the original air would have been out here. was built on pilings, 2500 pilings that extended 4000 feet into the lake. there were bathing facilities. people would descend the stairs to a platform and got into the water that way. it has been built in this moorish revival style, that they called it, that evoked exoti
