welcome back to "cavuto coast to coast," i'm casey stegall in our texas newsroom where we're following it pertains to police calls and the response times. that city is still feeling the impacts of last year's controversial city council decision which eliminated more e than $21 million from the austin police budget and diverted another $128 million to other city departments. that took about a third of their funding away, but just last month the city council voted to give the money back for the upcoming fiscal year. but after the state legislature just passed a bill that prohibits the defunding of any texas law enforcement agency as primarily the reason for that, critics say. it will take time, however, before that cash is unfused back into the system. so for now, with a shortage of some 150 police officers, they say they'll no longer be able to answer non-emergency calls. listen. >> we recognize the impact that this is going to have on so many across our department. a lot of work went into making these decisions. i am confident that we as a department will again get through these diffic

i'm neil cavuto. this is "your world." it was the president's push to make sure that those even already vaccinated get an insurance shots, a booster shot, a third shot that will protect them. the companies behind making these boosters and the only one that's been cleared is pfizer. moderna is working on one that could get approval very soon. the rub is that it might not offer the great benefits that either company claims. while it's welcome news, promising news, it came down to do you need it. do average folks that have been vaccinated really need a booster shot? that's why this rephrased question and the fda panel voting on this is so crucial. because the food and drug administration advisory panel had said essentially for the vast majority of folks, those 16 and older, presumably without any other extenuating circumstances, it really isn't necessary. they went on to say that this is calling in to question and maybe fears -- this is coming from the medical community interpreting this thinking on the fda, that it will give

neil cavuto, take it away for us. neil: jackie, thank you very much for that. jobs data that you had as well, jackie, we've had a fascinating tug-of-war going on in the financial community because, obviously, the overall number was less than expected. we were looking at something that was about three times the number we ultimately got even though a couple of the prior months were revised upward by about 134,000. but here's why i think the markets are holding back from collapsing on all of this, it probably pushes back the point at which the federal reserve will start tapering or buying fewer treasury notes, securities, bonds, that sort of thing. it's a leap, but if you push back the fed from doing anything the change its behavior -- which the markets have liked, they have been sort of like the crack provider for these markets, keeping interest rates very, very low and scarfing up any treasury securities, municipal bonds, treasury bonds, you name it, that they can buy to force those rates lower. so if that continues now, it could mitigate the surprising weak num
