we're at 57 in central maryland. 52 out in the western suburbs. what does today and tomorrow hold for the weekend? for more we go to marty. >> thank you. good afternoon. it's beautiful out here right now, the sun is out but we're going to start to see some clouds moving our way. let's look at the graphic, there's a disturbance passing by to the south and going to be a couple of different reasons weather is unsettled. the cool flow from the northwest, but let's look at first warning doppler, is this low passing down to the south? this will show where moisture is aloft. that's not necessarily rain falling, however clouds start moving our way. they will clear the region by tomorrow morning. and the general thinks is that they really won't give us any rain. it's just going to be gray skies this afternoon and tonight with clearing skies tomorrow and a good run of sun through the weekend. the way it feels now, it's the way it will feel at lunch hour for the next five days kind of. meteorologist tim williams will fill in those details shortly. >> remembe

western maryland, central maryland, no activity. and temperatures are in the 50s. across the state. looking at 50 in hagerstown. 53 in d.c. 48 in salisbury. you get the 40s on the eastern shore and then in western maryland. but for the most part along the 95 corridor, still in the lower 50s. winds are out of the north. right now 10 miles per hour winds in baltimore. dc at 10 miles per hour winds. back to the west of us, three. so winds were not too much of a factor. light breeze coming out of the north. but other than that, still looking at pretty quiet and clear conditions. temperature wise, the colder air north of us, up toward buffalo and pittsburg. they would drop into the 30s overnight. new york holding at 51 degrees. and boston 48. big area of high pressure off to the west. that keeps us nice and clear for the next day here. few clouds to the north. and then here is that area of low pressure sitting out there. spinning. creating rain showers over parts of new england. and for us, that rain should stay north. and we should be not affected by that any time soon. it filters east-s

mostly clear conditions and you can see our satellite imagery shows a patch of clouds over north central maryland and that may hold the temperature up a couple of degrees. it is 41 in westminster. it is getting kind of cold in areas where the skies are clear. it is almost to the freezing point in ocean city. look for temperatures to range in the 30's before dawn. generally, we will be just below the freezing point in the northern suburbs. i want to draw your attention to this arctic air in western candidates -- western canada. next friday, some of that cold air will sweep through here and that will generate some lake effect snow. in the meantime, as this drift farther south and east, we will get a warm up going into the early part of next week. clear to partly cloudy skies is the jewel forecast for the next couple of days. sunny days and clear to partly cloudy skies during the night. 56 to 61 tomorrow. only in the low 50s tomorrow in some areas will close to 60 banks to a westerly breeze and a good deal of sunshine. there is a small craft advisory on the day for the morning hours. the winds will

look at line of storms is that blew through extending up to yorkpa and through central maryland and hit the baltimore county area at around 1 to 1:30 and yes, we had a severe thunderstorm warning. but if you slept through it you probably woke up from the storms themselves. widespread power outages and damages as you've seen from charlie and sherrie and the storms hit eastbound and blew out. there's a line trying to develop. there's clearing to the south. but overall, it's about the wind advisory that kicks in at 9 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. wind could reach 40 miles per hour. and while we are mild at 56, there's cold air behind the storm and the main storm is circulating back across the great lakes. there's the low pressure center as it ride to the north. strong gusty winds will develop and that is pretty much what we are looking at here. one more disturbance behind the system that will produce the cold air and snow in the mountains. you can see right there. we will have cloud building back in and the chance of maybe a rain shower tomorrow evening with some snowflakes mixed in. but no b

and then 30s across central maryland 46 down on the shore where the winds are coming in from the north at 3 miles per hour. and again calm readings around much of the state. we've had small craft advisories in effect for parts of the weekend. they have now been lifted. the winds are really not a factor. this is the very slow moving cold front. we've been talking about this thing for just about a week. it's being driven by a low pressure system pushing all over in our direction. on the top edge of the spin cold air being yanked down from canada is creating snow conditions across the dakotas over into the upper peninsula of michigan seeing colder air over toward minneapolis and fall. all of that is moving in our direction. again, you see the transition. more of a rain event as it starts to move into the milder air. now the colder air on the western side of this, the back edge, will drop our temperatures a little bit. but the temperatures dropping only mean that we go down to very close to normal highs for this time of year. so high pressure builds in right behind the front as it proves o
