i wanted to thank chair peskin and the rules committee for the hearing and the thoughtful analysis of applicants and recommendations. i think all of us were struck by the level of interest in this body. which is really encouraging. this is hopefully the space where innovative ideas are coming from. i wanted to thank supervisor melgar for her input around gender balance and i want to thank supervisor safai for his input. i think we have highly qualified folks who bring a lot of expertise. i will say specifically on the gender issue that supervisor melgar raised, i want to reiterate i appreciate the input. i want to note that we have all along requested that one of the pieces -- we've been working closely over the months with lydia, who is an expert on affordable housing. we're looking at a board that will be six men four women and one non-binary individual. as the body was introduced originally with 15 members. we were advised to reduce that to make it more manageable. we are open to thinking about whether given the level of interest, we might want to expand that. if we do, certainly w

unsustainable to rely on hold offers and so after learning with this information i want to thank chair peskin for working to expedite the new appointment to the board and we're also urging the mayor's office to expedite their appointments and we need to ensure that we're supporting these structures and we set up to advise and engage the mayor, the board, the office of early care and education this requires adequate staffing in coordination between the different advisory bodies, the oec, childcare planning and first five commission and our resolution calls on the office of early care and education to strengthen information sharing, training and support of new cast members and supervisor safai and i are also working and on going conversations with the stakeholders and evaluating the ordinance that formed the oece to see how we can expand the duties and the role. i want this board to continue being a partner and building out division that former president yee fought for and i rerefer this back to supervisor safai for his comments and thank you and ronen, channing walton, mar and haney for co-spo

again, i want to reiterate that i am in support of the one year extension kind of like what chair peskin has mentioned. a deal is a deal. it's in honor of that deal that has already approved for the golden gate park 150th anniversary. the reason why i think that we do end up stepping in is because that terms has changed. it is now asking for a four-year extension. make that a total of a five-year stay. i think that when terms and conditions change, it really changes everything else. and so, simply with this resolution is to ask for this to be -- to honor the original proposal and the true proposal and for those who argue that this is really this extended stay is for the sake of economic recovery. i, for one as a district one supervisor, i think that i will have -- i should really be concerned, greatly concerned if that the west side economic recovery, especially in golden gate park especially for small businesses dependent on a wheel, i think that i am not doing my job then. i will have a much bigger problem on my hasn't to make sure that we recover beyond. and last but not least to say
