dozens of international ships are here in charm city to commemorate the bicentennial of the start of the war of 1812. wjz and mike schuh are live on federal hill looking down on all the beautiful ships. good morning, mike. >> reporter: good morning, don. good morning , everyone. take a look. there's the coast guard training ship. i believe it's the eagle. that's number one. two, three , four, five, six, seven, eight. eight of the tall ships just here in the inner harbor. everyone is loving what they're seeing so far. . >> the international spotlight continues to shine on baltimore. >> we are officially sticking off baltimore's star spangled sailabration. >> the captains of the 40 tall ships from around the world are honored with gifts and a special performance by the navy band. thousands of visitors are touring the ships. >> we're having a ball. >> this is all to commemorate the bicentennial of the war of 1812. the sailabration is drawing national and international attention, some visitors are excited to see ships from their home countries. >> we feel right at home. >> the navy blue

thousands have flocked downtown for the spectacular displays in the water and in the skies for charm city. now a special ceremony as those festivities come to a close. wjz is live at the inner harbor, jessica kartalija has the latest. >> reporter: it's hard to believe the week is almost coming toen a end here at celebration. today was the last full day of celebrate. i spent the morning at fort mchenry and it was incredible. a ceremony marking 200 years to the day since the start of the war of 1812. >> this is our story, this is a story worthy of the great people and this is the story we will tell together. >> reporter: at fort mchenry, maryland's top brass marked two centuries of friendship between the u.s., britain and canada. >> for the first time ever, the ambassador of canada and the ambassador of the united kingdom came here to attest to peace, to reaffirm the close bonds that reaffirm our country together. >> you can fight battles, you can win wars, you can become allies but democracy is our greatest tribute. >> reporter: the morgan state choir performing the star spangled banner. >
