cheney will do well there.in, this is where the university of wyoming, this is the only other counting the state that joe biden carried by three points. but again, you're talking about a small fraction of the votes that are gonna come out of these two counties. there's going to be the two obvious places on this map, where i see liz cheney, really, potentially having a big night. and it could be possibly big enough in places like this, to offset what we are already seeing in sweet water county, and that we're already seeing in natrona county? it gets tough to see. so, more will be coming in here. wyoming is a slow counting state. but again, if you are liz cheney, i think one benchmark you want to see is you wanted that early vote in the jonah county, you wanted to be winning it. >> steve, what about the phenomenon we're hearing, democrats changing the registrations in wyoming, so they can vote in the republican primary for liz cheney? do we have any metrics? do we have any data that suggests that's happening in

but for cheney, this may not be the end of the road. in fact, she says, she's just getting started. 204 defeated years, but also defiant, saw this cheney had run a campaign like, based on her opposition to donald trump and preventing his influence over the republican party. but instead to both her and her supporters, the loss did not come as a surprise. 2 years ago i won this primary was 73 percent of the vote. i could easily have done the same again, the path was clear, but it would have required that i go along with president trump's lie about the 2020 election. that was a path i could not and would not take those confusion on this committee investigating the january 6 attack on the capitol. cheney was one of just 2 republicans on the panel, investigating trump's role in the attack. and her earlier voting for his impeachment put her at odds with her own party. in typical style, trump put out a statement celebrating her defeat in the primaries. this is a wonderful result for america and a complete rebuke of the unselect committee of po

but she is a cheney. her dad was vice president, her name carries a lot of weight and she can raise a lot of money as we've seen. so this is something that could take shape down the road out of the 10 house republicans who voted to impeach donald trump. only 2 are going to be on the ballot in november. really looks like any criticism of the former president is equal to political suicide within the g o. p doesn't it? it certainly doesn't help nicole. i mean those who pick a fight with president trump faced not only the wrath of him himself, but also supporters. but i do have to say that observers here have been keeping very close watch of how candidates who president trump has endorsed. how they were ferrying in these mid term elections, and it is actually a mixed picture. and i'll give you 2 examples. so in a crucial state like georgia, which was critical to joe biden winning the last election, president trump tried his very best to make sure the 2 republicans would lose their races. brian camp and brad r

if cheney falls short, do we know what is next for her?er: look, i think we're going to get a fairly good sense tonight in her speech, win or lose, she is going to, i'm told, offer sort of her view for the future. and we know she has one goal. she talked about it again and again, she's been very consistent in this, unlike some republicans who have tried to sort of, you know, appease some voters who still like trump, she's been very consistent, saying, look, her main goal is to keep donald trump from ever serving in the white house again. so what form that takes is the only question. will she run against him in 2024 if he runs? or is she going to form a group to support other republicans? i think we'll get a sense of a road map for her future tonight. so it is the beginning of the next chapter if the first one happens to end today, kate. >> this is just one stop on a very long future still for liz cheney, no matter what. it is good to see you. glad you're there. thank you so much. >>> we'll bring you the results as they come in late later.
