the cherry blossoms are just about at peak bloom. when i step out of the way to show you the incredible vantage that we have at the tidal basin. all 3800 cherry trees are at peak bloom lining the tidal basin. the festival has been going on for the past three weeks. it culminates this weekend with the cherry blossom festival parade happening along constitution avenue this coming saturday. and my goodness the weather just looks phenomenal! if you look closely at some of the trees they're what's called the puffy whi stage. so they are just about at peak bloom. the one thing we have to watch out for is later this afternoon, with the threat with some thunderstorms any strong wind gusts that move through could bring down some of the petals but nonetheless, an absolutely gorgeous looking weekend to get out to enjoy the cherry blossoms. we were talking with folks from the national park service today. they will be doing some guided tours. they have pups and petals so you can bring your dogs out to see the cherry blossoms. make sure you bring
