cheryl: sure was a bumpy road today especially for bond investors. bond investors head for the hill streasury hit a 52-week high. david: someone says he is not only not bailing on bond but actually buying them for the first time in three years. john donaldson, vice president of fixed income from haverford. john, despite the fact that treasuries were tanking were you buying even before ben bernanke's statement led to that drop in the price of bonds? >> yes. we had recently bought 10-year treasurys really for the first time in three years. buy a couple small additions. david: why now? >> a couple things in your favor. one, additional yield spread on almost every other sector narrowed to levels that just didn't compensate you for the interest risk involved. the treasury relative to inflation had a sharp reversal in recent weeks. as recently as early april the 10-year treasury was trading 70 basis points below the implied inflation level on timms. as of today it is 30 basis points above the implied rate of inflation. you know, that is a reversal of 100 basis points on a base of a 2% yield
