chicago tribune's rick pearson joins us. we know what is next. he plans to appeal but his political opponents and even some democrats are circling around them. what stopped him from just letting this go? i think one thing is the mileage here and he is up for reelection. he does not have a strong opponent as he did when he first made this veto. this is like the old pat quinn. if you go back decades he was the outsider who fought to make sure that legislators did not collect their salary one year in advance. the man who led the teabags movement over a pay increase for legislators that thompson allowed to be overriden. going after legislative pay is in his background and is popular. we know how politicians argue the to these days and who wants to give him money? what are the ramifications? i am not so sure it is a black high. it is a black eye in the legal sense and he is appealing in supreme court but politically you can see the television advertising where i am standing for the taxpayers and the judge made me, made the money go this way, and it is
