they are children, and they need the same things that all children need. then the differences are for that specific handicap that a child might have. so if they're hearing paired, we would be sitting them in the front. or visually impaired-- would have a lot of tactile, hands-on touching mateals for a child who was visually impaired. we would do a lot of talking for the visually impaired child to supplement what they can't see--extra talking. for the emotionally impaired child, we're going to be explaining other people's actions to them so that they can better understand why people react to them the way they d when they blow up or do the thing that's the problem for them. but in terms of activities that you provide and how you talk to them, in terms of what you're expecting of them, it's very similar for whether they're a special needs child or a "normal" child. all children need the same things. they need to feel good out themselves. they need to feel safe and comfortable and eager to try things an environment that won't criticize them when they try thing
