. >> good afternoon commissioner sheila from hillary ronen so like chinatown, north beach and japantown the latino cultural district is a special place that attacks tourist from all around the world and a place that became a regional hub for the community and people come back for social services and all the weekly things their families may need and connections to a lot of cultural pieces like their churches and community-based organization but this place is hope home to many residents that live in the district and right around there and that's why supervisor hillary ronen in collaboration with the mayor's office so excited this was first piece of legislation she introduced to preserve this neighborhood what that cultural district so toxic in terms of mix of businesses that are there that that preserves legacy businesses and incentivizes they're prejudice and for the unique features the district like small storefronts and mom and pop shops and the latino community and the rich history and it is a place that also is looking for ways to attractive and support new businesses on the corridor
