but chp says it is still under investigation.0 this morning chp says the driver of a black dodge was traveling northbound on 680 south of calaveras road when traffic began to slow approaching a construction zone in the number 1 lane. chp says the driver admitted to falling asleep at the wheel. his black dodge, then crashed into the rear of a white toyota corolla. and pushed it into another vehicle. four people had to be transported to eden hospital. at the hospital an 8-year-old child died. chp says the 8-year-old was in a car seat in the back of the white toyota. the child's father is currently stillen the hospital with major injuries. now, we're told the two other victims in the crash just have minor injuries. now, chp says they do not believe that the driver who says he fell asleep at we'll was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. they say that the investigation says still ongoing but no word yet on if any charges will be brought against the driver. in sa nol, leigh martinez, nimr al-nimr. >>> a man seen kick a helpless ho

that's the issue according to the chp.y say caltrans has actually requested a sweeper for that area. that means at one point in the next hour or so, they are going to have to close westbound 580 all lanes again to traffic. so you will come to a complete stop if you're on westbound 580 heading here just east of eden canyon road. that is going to be another issue. we've got a long ways to go as far as getting this all cleaned up. let's take a look at sky 7. you can see the big rig has been moved over. two lanes closed, westbound 580 east of eden canyon road. the big rig weighs about 30,000 pounds. it's going to be quite an effort to get it out of there. this happened about 4:45 this morning. it's 6:33 right now. all lanes were blocked for about 45 minutes before they were able to open up a couple of lanes. we noticed all morning long. it appears they've been closing lanes on and off. it looks like that's going to happen, too, as caltrans comes out and tries to clean up. chp is going to have to block all these lanes. a big is

. >> good morning to you marcus and laura, overnight we did speak with chp. they indicated either possible another vehicle collided with this motorcyclist after he wrecked here on northbound 880. they want to find this person. even if they hit this motorcyclist accidentally, the fact they did not stop is a problem. this happened around 1:00 this morning. this motorcyclist was on coleman avenue on ramp to northbound 880. chp officers tell us he was going well over the speed limit, failed to negotiate the turn onto the freeway, hit the median on the on ramp. him and his bike. he was wearing a helmet by the way ended up in the middle of northbound 880 where, again, chp believe he might have been hit by a vehicle. the reason why they believe this, among the debris, they found debris that did not match the motorcycle. in other words they found debris from another vehicle. that's part of the investigation. they are trying to figure out, trying to determine what killed the man. was it the initial crash into the median and ending up in the middle of the freeway or su

chp says the driver admitted to falling asleep at the wheel. his black dodge then crashed into the rear of a white toyota rollpushed it into a thd vehicle. the impact caused the black dodge to turn over. four people were injured. unfortunately, the 9-year-old girl had fatal injuries and died. chp says the girl was in a car seat in the back of the white toyota. the girl's father is in the hospital with major injuries. her mother was in the front passenger seat with only minor injuries. chp says the other two drivers in the crash had only minor injuries. the cause of the crash is still under investigation. the driver who allegedly caused the crash has only been identified as a 56-year-old man from tracy. it's unknown at this time if he will be facing any charges. in dublin, leigh martinez, ktvu fox 2 news. >>> the estranged wife of the man accused of being the golden state killer released a statement this morning. sharon huddle who has been cooperating with investigators said, quote, my thoughts and prayers are for the victims and their families.
