chris: welcome back. a sonoma county man reached out to us after feeling frustrated and ripped off by a kickstarter campaign. he's asking, "where did my money go?" [music] chris: ron phelps is a music buff. and when he's not listening to music from these speakers, he's listening to it from his earbuds. so, ron was intrigued by this headset prototype that melds the two, called sound band. ron: the idea was that the sound band would sit over your ears, and it'd have a controller in the back, and it would transmit the sound to you through the outside of your ear, so. chris: ron found sound band on the crowdfunding site kickstarter. sound band's creator was raising money to bring the product to market, so ron pitched in $135. in return for his investment, he was promised one sound band headset to be delivered by the end of the year. the problem? ron: about 3 years ago. chris: the sound band kickstarter campaign secured nearly 4,000 backers, and has raised more than half a million dollars. but ron has never re
