joining me to discuss this mess of issues, congressman chris kol colon -- collins, republican from new york. do you support the tax plan? >> i do, jake, it goes back to the plan that we put forward back in january. it is very much in line with the tax plan that we heard from kevin brady at our republican conference. certainly a few differences in the numbers. we were at 20% corporate. the president's at 15. i certainly like 15 more than 20, but we're in the same ballpark and we had a top rate of 35 -- 33, the president's 35. so we're talking from the same page and that's what will ue'll ultimately negotiate. myself and other fiscal conservatives have said we need to be budget neutral on this. we are okay with dynamic scoring, looking at the growth factor which would then take people and put them back to work or potentially getting them off of food stamps, getting them off of medicaid because now they have good jobs, getting the economy rocking and rolling, corporations making more money and if you make money you do pay taxes. on a dynamic scoring basis, not stat tick scoring, if we can

joining us now to discuss, chris collins of new york. thank you for being with us.the president right in now he's referring to the judge and how he is arguing his case about sanctuary cities? >> i absolutely agree with him. i think america does as well, chris. and i think it goes back to a fundamental promise he made and why he was elected to protect the supreme court from being an activist court. he accomplished that in his first 100 days and certainly what we've seen with some of the other federal judges that have been installed over the last few years. we do have an activist court and i think president trump over the next four to eight years is certainly going to clean that up and appoint justices like neil gorsuch, who believe in the constitution and are not going to be making activist rulings from the bench, as we have seen in the ninth circuit. i do think america is watching and the overreach of that ninth circuit is really confirming what many of us have been talking about for a long time. >> why is it overreach? the law involved, you know that the executive

but here's what chris collins said, and this is sort of what i find devilishly clever about this compromise. he says, some aspects of this are troublesome to a few of our members. not me because this would not impact new york in the least. keep in mind we're talking about state-based waivers. he's saying i'm from a blue state. whatever happens in alabama, louisiana, no skin off my nose. so at some point you've got to compromise. you've got to take a tough vote. the main thing is we've got to deliver on this promise the president and all of us made to america when he elected us with majorities in the house and senate and put trump in the white house. what do you think about that? >> i have consistently campaigned on the proposition that the pre-existing condition portion should remain. i've stated that in campaigns from 2010 forward. i do hope, however, chris, that democrats will come to the table regarding the exchanges. i have never said they're in a >> but, congressman, to that point about pre-existing conditions. i want to show you part of your own house republican caucus' website. this

stuart: joining me now republican congressman chris collins.kind of traitor section of the republican party. what do you make of that? >> oh, i have to respectfully disagree with louie. it. he is a good friend of mine. i don't see this at all, stuart. this is ideology of freedom caucus, versus common-sense approach of many of the rest of us. the freedom caucus, call it a clean repeal of obamacare going back seven years to where we were not dealing with preexisting conditions, the expansion of medicaid that took place in 31 states, things like community rating and guaranteed issue. they wanted to go back to just eliminate obamacare, make believe it never occurred. we'll go back seven years. you know, stuart, we lived with obamacare for seven years. we did expand medicaid in 31 states, 14 which have republican governors. we can't make believe we can go back. this is where the discussion, call it the compromise, which is not a bad word has occurred. we have come up with a compromise with some states rights issues which are important to the freedom
