chris gordon has new reaction today, and some say school officials aren't doing enough to stop this. chris? >> reporter: erika, we were sent nine videos from a source who is employed here at gaithersburg high school, saying that they show students fighting inside the school and on school grounds. now, we have been told that the videos were shot by students on their cell phones and posted by students on social media. there is an instagram page dedicated exclusively to gaithersburg high fights on which students share the videos. now, we have not independently verified when these videos were taken, but our source who works here at the school says they are recent and show current students fighting. our source doesn't want to be identified, fearing violence, saying the school administration isn't doing enough to stop it. >> i think the excess of the amount of fights that are going on, the fact the kids are videotaping the fights instead of trying to break it up, the level of violence the videos contain and the most important the teachers at the school knowing that these fights are happenin

wendy, back to you. >> chris gordon, thank you, chris. let's take a look at our forecast. the flags were a flapping in the wind at union station this evening. >> they were. the wind was kicking up. doug joins us from the storm center. you said it would be whipping today. what else is coming our way? >> we talked about the fact we'd see mild temperatures. wind bringing colder air. temperatures dropping ten degrees in some locations. just over the course of the past couple of hours, take a look at these temperatures. this tells the story now. 56 degrees in d.c., 38 degrees back towards west virginia, 46 in hagerstown. you see where the temperatures are starting to fall as the colder air makes its way in here. by 8:00 tonight, wind chills will be in the 30s in many locations. and they're getting close to that already. look at these winds, gusting upwards of 25 miles an hour, near 35 miles an hour back to the west. we've seen gusts close to 40 a little bit earlier. we'll see winds through the overnight hour and into the morning, too. that is something to watch. look at the win

chris gordon is in gaithersburg with a look at what the school system plans to do about this. chris? >> reporter: well, the source who sent us the new video of students fighting is an employee here at gaithersburg high school. we are told that it can be dangerous for teachers and staff who try to stop the fighting. gaithersburg high school last week when a school security officer fell and the students continued fighting. apparently right on top of him. six students face disciplinary action. now we have nine more videos of fighting in the school or on school grounds sent to us from a source employed by gaithersburg high school. our source doesn't want to be identified fearing violence saying some students seem to be out of control. >> they know that they kind of have the power of the school and that the teachers can't do anything. they'll constantly say, you can't tell me what to do, or you can't tell me this. they'll curse you, cuss at you and now it's gotten to the point where they have been physical with several of the staff members, meaning if they don't like what you say th

a noose found in a fraternity house and at least three incidents of swass >> news4's chris gordon is live on the college park campus with reaction from students. chris? >> reporter: well, susan and jim, we are watching students walking from the campus here into college park for dinner, or to their off-campus housing. but some minority students tell me they don't feel safe walking alone at night. now, the university recognizes their fears and is taking action. >> we've seen a rise in incidents across the country of hate and bias. >> reporter: dr. roger worthing ton is the chief diversity officer at the university of maryland. he says the new plan stream lines communications. the university also plans to hire a hate bias response coordinator. >> to make sure that we have the proper preventive, educational training, and response efforts any time an incident takes place on our campus. >> reporter: last spring a noose basement of a fraternity house. in may during final exams, visiting bowie state richard collins was stabbed to death while waiting at a bus stop on the college park campus. h

news4's chris gordon is at the wheaton metro stop with reaction from one of the victims. chris? >> reporter: well, doreen, the victim fears for his safety. he told his story in court before a montgomery county judge and then he spoke with us, asking that we not reveal his identity. >> t i no longer take the bus. >> reporter: this victim says the robbery cost him his job. >> translator: because i don't feel safe any more. at any moment i feel like i'm going to get attacked. >> reporter: this metro surveillance video played in court shows the robbery on the red line train to glenn mont in april. four young men attacking and beating a passenger. they steal his wallet and credit cards. the judge is upset because he said when the four left the train here in wheaton, they were laughing. and then to make matters worse, they went outside and continued their crime spree. 90 minutes later, they got on a metro bus, and were caught on video attacking another victim. the bus video shows the four surrounding and beating the victim riding home from work, stealing his iphone. >> a stranger on s
