chris lawrence at the malaysian embassy here in northwest washington. >> reporter: i can't think of another instance in which one nation and one airline dealt with two major air disasters in such a short amount of time. here it has been mostly quiet. we have seen a couple of people leave the embassy and employees going home for the night. they have been mostly quiet and very serious saying nothing. at this point allowing the prime minister and other senior officials in malaysia to speak for the nation. over the past few months we have seen scenes where families packing conference rooms in kuala lumpur and china awaiting answers from loved ones aboard flight 370 and becoming angry and frustrated when answers did not come fast enough. we spoke with one young man whose mother works at the embassy of malaysia in washington, d.c. and says he cannot believe what he was hearing when he heard about the crash. >> i was shocked. i saw it on first. it said that it's two things in four months and it was shot down i don't know by who. but i was pretty shocked. i was thinking it shouldn't have been malay
