chris lawrence is monitoring the slick spots in d.c.gin with megan who is live in loudoun county.me n, how are things looking where you are? >> well, i have to tell you, we just slid a little bit on the dull green way aew minutes ago and we're in a heavy live truck here. but as we went over an overpass that freezes as a different n temperature the regular ground, we slid a little bit. not extreme, butnough to remind you that there's slick conditions out there. we just got on to route 7. we're here in the leesburg area, you can see that the pavementet here is much just wet, but there are slick spots in the bridges and overpass andamps are a bit of a problem still. in fact, we're making our way to a situation that's going on in the sterling area. apparently the northbound ramp from 28 to the westbound lan of route 7, that ramp is closed because of some icy conditions. so we'll check that out. people are going to keep in mind that things are not yet perfectb they'rter than they were yesterday but we're still seeing slick spots here and the

ews 4's chris lawrence is live in crystal city with the bs and transportation changes ahead. chris?, the big thing, aaron, amazon plans to start hiring the first few hundred workers locally next year. virginia tech will get ready to open its innovation station to train some of the tech workers that will beor needed f some of these new jobs, but the key is going to be how are these folks going to get to work, and that's where transportation comes in. state and local officials plan to build a newth entrance to crystal city metro stop. they also will add a second entrance to the new potomac yard station after it opens. and they also would like to build a 900 foot pedestrian bridge to connect this area with ragan. ould be a potential boom for metro. if you look at a half mile radius around any metro station, if it goes up they get a 2 to 3% boost in ridership. that could be a big help. despite tai troubles on the system, the general manager says metro was a key to landing amazon. >> as you recall, whehey first visited here, the first thing they did is o getting to metro. they took the t

i'm chris lawrence. >> and i'm erika gonzalez. >> someone hand database from arwood properties and they have collected the data ofore than half a billion customers. >> let's go live to megan mcgrath. >> reporter: it really is a massive breach. marriott and starwood merged two years ago and starwood operates hotels under a number of names including the westin we're talking about very high-profile properties here. let's take a look at the specifics. the breach was confirmed on november the 19th. the unauthorized access, though, dates back to 2014. this involves reservations made through the starwood guest registry and it includes preferre guest accounts for starwood. now, 500 million guests cou be affected. now for 327 million of those people, the personal information compromised includes a combination of name, date of rth, phone numbers and addresses. it is unclear at this point if some of the payment card information waspr cised or not. apparently marriott uses two forms of encryption. it's unclear whether both forms were taken in this breach. we've been talking to starwood guests. here
