so we have a big voice from the senate foreign relations committee with us tonight, senator chris murphy good to have you. clever play by putin there, huh? hey, murphy, you're not as dumb as they say you are. i think you're pretty cogent. a nice little back-handed compliment. what is his point? >> well, i think you have to understand the full story here which is that in the russian state-backed media for the weeks leading up to the meeting, putin and his allies were just mauling joe biden in part because they're nervous about a skilled diplomat who is capable of out maneuvering vladimir putin and so they have been beating him up domestically. he was maybe speaking to an international audience but also a domestic audience. the fact is, joe biden got everything he wanted out of this trip to europe. he planned this very carefully, did the meetings with the europeans first, got them all to come back to the table on china, talked to them about a common strategy toward russia, and then he sat down with putin. didn't build up expectations, didn't make anybody believe there would be some big dip

this was really a continuation of a bill that was sponsored last year in july 2020 by senator chris murphyd the criminalization of schools act. i understand the purpose of it, that they perceive that if they remove the police from the schools there will be less criminalization and they want to place more counselors in the school which is not a bad idea in itself. it sounds pretty good on its face. i don't know if it's going to accomplish what they think it's going to do. you might have unintended consequence. the bill they're suggesting suggests there should be at least one social worker, one counselor for every 250 students and one psychologist for every 750 students. jillian: let me if i can break this up, the graphics of the cities that banned police in schools. there are certainly a number of them. i'm curious your within, what removing police from schools could potentially do. what type of issues could this pose? >> i'm sure it will allow for more entry of weapons into the school system. also, it doesn't necessarily remove the school safety officers, worrying about the criminalization
