chris pallone is in midtown manhattan and joins us now.t of security concerns but talk what is special about pride parade today. >> reporter: good morning. let me give you a live look what's going on on fifth avenue. this march will be stepping off two and a half hours from now. the road is still open here. but across the street we've got several groups that are starting to line up. that's where the floats and the groups of marchers will be starting together on the side streets just off fifth avenue. this is a very special day for nyc pride for two reasons. number one, today is the one year anniversary since the supreme court ruled that state laws banning same-sex marriage are unconstitutional. this is certainly a red letter date for the lgbt community. we're two weeks removed from the awful attack, the largest mass shooting in u.s. history, the terror attack on the pulse nightclub in orlando. as people are starting to gather this morning, we're already seeing shirts that say orlando united, new york city is orlando. things are starting to
