"today in the bay" chris sanchez live at the scene where hundreds of firefighters are monitoring this situation. chris. >> reporter: good morning to you, laura. good morning to you, sam. there are still firefighters here on scene, some of them wrapping up hoses because the fire is largely under control. you can see behind me, there is still spoke billowing from some part of this strip mall. it is an l-shaped building here on santa ter res ra and catalan in south san jose. this is whatt looked like outside that strip mall. the problem is it was spraying quickly through the attic space of this building. at the height of the fire, it was a four alarm. there were more than 100 firefighters here on scene. the firefighters were not only budget out that fire, they were trying to make sure it did not spread the homes behind part of the strip mall nor to the gas station here in this same parking lot. it took about two hours of firefighting to get it under control or contained. it was three-and-a-half hours of firefighting before the battalion chief gets it under control. there will be slowing

sanchez live in orlando with the very latest. what are the theories on why, boris? >> reporter: well, chrislooking at right now. they're trying to expand the timeline of what happened between saturday night and early sunday morning, when the shooting unfolded. as you said, sources telling cnn that the shooter came to the club hours before carrying out the attack. they said he bought a ticket and got a wristband that allowed him reentry into the club. he then left for two hours before coming back and opening fire. the idea is that he came here to scope out security, to see how the security was laid out in the club, casing out the club before then coming back. we're also hearing from investigators that the wife of the shooter has told them that he was agitated the night before the shooting, that he was very, very angry, and left their home in port st. lucy two hours away in a very disturbed mood, carrying bags. later, we clearly found out those bags were full of firearms. she says that she didn't know exactly what he was planning, but that she tried to stop him. yesterday, attorney general lo
