i want to bring in christina greer a political science professor. a troubling situation continuing to unfold there. let me first start by getting your thoughts on this very thought pro voting gentleman we heard from there who summarized the faeling of a lot of protesters there. the police system is broken, it is an under plooi lying problem. do you agree with that? >> i absolutely think we do. if we read the 1619 project and literature from historians and political scientists and we watch the news today, we know that the institutions that have been set up have anti-black racism. i think it's playing out unfortunately on people's cell phones. it's not new. i think will smith said it's just being recorded. we saw this obviously in a lot of our lifetime, in my generation with rodney king and sadly we have a whole generation of young people growing up and witnessing these really vial acts being committed by the state. >> there the a lost data out there that shows a troubling pattern. surveys show 75% of whites think police use the right amount of force
