let's start with you, christine.ery company's advising the president how to create jobs here in the united states are venturing into immigration reform. what do companies want? >> they want to be able, according to this particular report, venturing into the sticky area of immigration, thin layer, highly skilled foreign workers. they want more visas to bring people in from other countries to do highly skilled jobs in this country. they want automotive work permits from any foreign student who graduates from an american university with a degree of science, technology, engineering and math. all of this is something that's been discussed many, many times. we have lots of programs in place, including one anybody wants to invest, entrepreneur wants to invest $500,000 to a million dollars can come to the country to do that. a lot of work permits and the like. this comes at a time with 14 million unemployed in the country and 27% underemployment or something. it will be a politically charged debate, no question. >> bill gate

christin ayers is in oakland with more on that and with more on what's happening right now. christin. >> reporter: and dana, as you said, a lot of action here at city hall which had been fenced off. authorities were really trying to protect the center grassy area at city hall where protestors had been camping out for about two weeks trying to protect it from another similar campout but those protestors have reconvened at city hall and moved beyond chain link barrier that was set up strictly to keep them out and have now overrun the center grass area of city hall. we talk to protestors who were part of the violent clashes last night. police launched tear gas into the crowds of protestors. a small contingents of protestors fought back with fireworks and broken windows. they were met with rubber bullets and bean bags. the opd says other agencies may have used rubber bullets but they didn't. mayor jean quan praised the police defense and defended her decision to be out of noun washington, d.c. on city business when the protestors were evicted. >> i didn't think it was going to b
