chuck rosenberg, a former u.s. attorney and senior fbi official who is now an msnbc contributor. so, garrett, it's just coming out. i've been looking at the copy that we're getting. what do we know about the sections that have been released just seconds ago? >> jose, the truth of the matter is there is not much here. i was able to read through the entire release in that commercial break. what we have here is largely the grand jury defining their purpose. describing a little bit of how they conducted the work in which they conducted. they said at any given time they always had a quorum of 16 jurors. they interviewed some 75 witnesses, most of them in person and under oath during the course of their work from june to december. and at the conclusion of their work, they voted yea, nay or abstain for indictments on individuals who were within the purview of what they were assigned to do, which is to look into whether there was any tampering in the election results in georgia in 2020. the report does not include their decisions, as we knew it wouldn't, on whether there would be indictm

attorney chuck rosenberg. kelly. what do we know?er: you laid it out there, that's what we know at this point. the indiana home of the former vice president and his wife karen is now being searched by the fbi. this was as we understand it a negotiated search, so a pence legal representative would be there representing the former vice president, so this is not a case of it being a surprise. and this, of course, follows mr. pence having some classified materials that he surrendered over to the authorities and the national archives. obviously this all came to light after first the last august search where former president trump had lots of classified and government materials in his home and we have seen what played out with president biden having materials at his home and at an office in d.c. and so, mike pence did a search of his home. he, of course, when he left the vice presidency, had a period of time where he had goods that were in storage and then several months after leaving office, he and his wife purchased that home in carmel,

attorney and senior fbi official chuck rosenberg and msnbc legal analyst lisa rubin. kristen, what can you tell us about the search this morning and how is the white house reacting? >> reporter: well, that search is under way right now. no reaction from the white house yet. but let me just read you what we are hearing from the president's personal attorney who writes the doj is conducting a planned search of the home in rehoboth, delaware, under doj standard procedures in the interest of operational security and integrity. it sought to do this work without advanced public notice and we agreed to cooperate. the search today is a full step in a thorough and timely doj process. we will continue to fully support and facilitate. we will have further information at the conclusion of today's search. now, it is not clear if the agents are looking for particular documents or more general classified documents, but to put all of this into perspective this comes, we learned the fbi searched the president's think tank in washington here in mid-november. that's after that initial d

well, you know, let's bring in chuck rosenberg. chuck, the president's babbling notwithstanding, it seems there are plenty of reasons for donald trump, and others who testified, to be very concerned right now about criminal charges. what was your take away from just a little bit of the grand jury report we were able to see yesterday? >> well, that's right. i mean, joe, there's good cause for a whole bunch of people to be concerned. the district attorney in fulton county has identified 20 or so targets. a target is a likely or putative defendant. there's reason for people to be worried. it is certainly not a total exoneration, though it is possible mr. trump doesn't understand what the word exoneration means. what i take away from the report is simply this. a special grand jury sat for seven months hearing from scores of witnesses and believes crimes have been committed. now, it is not their job to indict those crimes. that's up to the district attorney. but she has a wealth of evidence. don't forget, the important thing here is not
