hisrandfather and four of inthers were grocers cincinnati, ohio, in the 1800s. a guy came into the store who had just come back from here, and he told them great tales about a wonderful country. how it was pastureland for cattle all over and a lot of opportunity to get rich. my grandfather and his brothers thought that sounded pretty good and they hopped on the train and their desire was to be ranchers, cattlemen. so they came scouting and looking for a place to acquire a cattle ranch. they rolled into flagstaff on sitrailroad in april of 18 so1866 just after a fire they get off the railroad and pervade the smoldering ash and they said i do not know if it we came to the right place. we did decide to say 1500 cattle. invented their brand. which over the years, grew to be very large ranch, one of the biggest in the ranch. it was a time for entrepreneurs. they established a store not unlike the old one cincinnati. i am in i was one of the original people who started it. some of their operation still survived. the reason i was interested to do this book is flagstaff
