i want to show you the front steps of city hall. the memorial out here -- people have been coming all morning and leaving the flowers and mementos. someone left a photo you see their of the mayor on the motorcade during the parade for the warriors in oakland earlier this year. there is also and lgbtq california flight on the steps along with handwritten notes thanking ed lee for his service. along with this visible sign, the flags on this building at city hall and citywide will remit at half staff for the next 30 days during this period of mourning. at a news conference earlier today we heard from the new acting mayor of san francisco, london breed. she was sworn in after mayor ed lee passed away this morning. she had been the board of supervisors president. city charter dictates that the president become the acting mayor in these situations. this morning she said i know i must assume this responsibility be asked for prayers. let's carry on and mayor the's honor. the city attorney also spoke this morning talking about the path forwa
