this is from santa clara county fire. what they call a type one engine. carries in the neighborhood of 700 gallons of water. that's the water you're seeing going on to what's left of the flames here. problem is because there are no hydrants, they're having to shuttle water back and forth from the closest hydrants, up to miles away. you see firefighters here putting water on hot spots, trying to keep the fire from spreading, containing it to the properties where it is now. two residential properties are involved, fire did burn three mobile homes, a number of other storage sheds and outbuildings, some of which contained cars and spread on neighboring commercial property, a concrete precast company. because of the situations with the water, unfortunately firefighters probably going to be out here all night trying to make sure this fire does not continue to spread in any way. so of course we'll continue to keep you updated on kpix 5 throughout the night tonight and tomorrow morning. >> it's so tough out there. because the conditions, it's so hot and dry. fire

daytime highs in the mid to low 80s just in the santa clara valley. walnut creek, even pleasanton we're still dealing with the low 80s in sight, a lot nicer especially up in our fairfield area where earlier this week we were dealing with upper 90s. now it's just mid 80s. it's a cool cooler to our coastline thanks to the onshore flow staying consistent this work week and the marine layer is keeping us cool, temperatures below average today alone, that's also true as we ex-end up to ukiah, only up to 86 this afternoon. the weather is changing for us as we head into our fourth of july weekend and all thanks to the system just north of us, an area of low pressure developing its way into our coastline. that's going to build a huge trough of cold air directing our winds pushing from the south so we're still dealing with partly cloudy skies due to that and that trough will continue to develop into the weekend giving us a beautiful, cool forecast just in time for monday, fourth of july. daytime highs are cooling off as we head into this weekend. by next week
