take a world-class city, no doubt about it. you look at the skyline and know things are happening here, but some people abroad would say it is too perfect, it is maybe too strict, how you respond to that, to people that have never been here before and have an image? >> there are some constraints you have to expect when you are 5 million people in one city that is also a country, and you have no place to go on the weekends to decompress. this is where we live, and so we have to make accommodation so that life is tolerable for all of us. we are loosening up and opening up. i think there is a buzz in the city. whether it is resorts, integrated resorts of the casino and entertainment or the art scene, or whether it is people doing their own thing in volunteer organizations, protecting the environment or the arts or whatever. i think it is opening up. we are part of the world, we speak english. we're all connected to the internet. there are 2 million facebook accounts, so it is not possible for us to be cut off from the world and be

the reach of middle-class workers that allows landlords to voluntarily sell their apartment as these units. people get a piece of the rock. they can invest in san francisco, the city gains through taxes, and the people abroad and with home ownership. it is a program that will keep the middle and blue class workers in san francisco, and that is what i was do as mayor is try to reinstitute it. thank you. >> the key to keeping families in san francisco revolves around three complimentary things -- jobs, housing, schools. 60,000 sent franciscans have moved here over the last decade, many of them young workers trying to find their fame and fortune, but we need to make sure we are providing job up to these four folks at all levels of the scale. we're looking to expand trading opportunities and the community college district. those young folks who are coming here, we need to provide smart growth housing opportunities so people can have a piece of the dream and san francisco. if we're going to keep them long term, we need to invest in education. that is what i call it an expansion and extension of proposition h. we need to put our money where our mouth is and expanded fro

can you do to keep the middle class of san francisco and bring families back to the city? >> we are the city with the fewest children per capita of any other city in the country. as a child who was born and raised in san francisco and played on the streets, i can attest this is a fabulous place to grow up and be raised. but people, the middle class with families in particular, children at the tiller, have a hard time balancing schools and home ownership. it is an expensive city and is a city where most people in the public school system did not feel, in my opinion, and have enough control over our kids get to go. i think we should be able to walk through the schools of that should be the problem. i also believe that parents should have the ability to have all of their kids in one school, not having them separated across town. i also believe we have to look at home ownership opportunities, look at people's ability to purchase property out right. so they can get their foot in the market, plant roots, and the economic stability they need to stay in the city. >> i like to chan

we live in a world-class city with world-class people, yet often times, people describe our government has anything but world class. that is why i started my organization to get your ideas to figure out the best way to solve our problems do with it together account call on you need to figure out what we could do to make it more effective and reliable. what is great is if we could make every single bus line in san francisco go one minute faster -- to think about it -- just one minute faster, we would save $20 million pier that happens to be the exact amount of the new budget deficit. by making unit more efficient and reliable, we could actually save money. we have quadrupled the number of solar roost in san francisco and doubled the number of megawatts from five to 10. lastly, i am car we have created a green economy in san francisco. when we started, we only have to we will solar companies. now, we have 30. that's 450 jobs that were created during the worst economy since the great depression. small business is the no. 1 driver for jobs in san francisco. that is why i want to create a s
