marjorie clifton former consultant to the obama campaign. >> good morning. >> right off the bat, everybodyames foley is not in the picture, it is a picture of the terrorist who beheaded him. appropriate, inappropriate? marjorie, you first? >> well, i think it's a pretty fresh situation and actually one that is surprisingly united americans. death of, execution of tom foley has been really, really hard thing for everyone. what it has done, the presidential actions that have followed have been more favorable toward republicans than anything we've seen in a long time. airstrikes are happening to try to contain them and escalating situation has been one weighed more favorably to republicans than most democrats. while i don't think it is particularly effective but create as really distasteful environment in terms of negative campaigning. i actually doesn't think it does a lot of favors what we're teaching our children and young people about the political process. all in all there is a lot of subject matters they could use to talk about. martha: fair or unfair, what do you think? >> i think it i

joined by marjorie clifton, former obama campaign consultant and row conn, the host of the roe conn radioome to you. what do you think about the way the president weighed in yesterday? >> i thought he was fairly measured bit. what is really going on the justice department is taking a really hard look what happened here. that should be the single element that is calming this reaction at the moment. what i just don't understand how the sense of injustice is leading to more injustice here? i don't understand how the death of this young man, which may have, may have been a negligent act, we're not sure, and the fbi has been on the ground since the weekend trying to figure that out, how does that justify in any way kind of reaction going on here, looting, violence? there was a woman shot in the head last night. it is unclear if it was result of this, just a few blocks away from where all the action is. martha: yeah. it is devastating, what is happening in that community. as you point out, even though there are some calls from the president and from michael brown's family, for people to be calm

we have marjorie clifton, former spokesman for obama campaign. what are your thoughts on this.wspaper. pretty big development. marjorie? >> well, advertising is the name of the game for newspapers and networks as we all know right now. so i mean you can't jump to the conclusion that "new york times" running this ad per se endorsing legalization of marijuana because they're actually getting ready also to run another ad that is advocacy organization against medical marijuana. they are allowing a conversation to be happening and absolutely, i look at it like this. if we endorse the guy on the dos equis commercials most interesting man in the world by running their ads that would be funny and nutrisystem only way to lose weight. advertising is what it is and what keeps media alive right now. molly: she makes interesting point. is this part of the conversation? they put out op-ed is and this ad and are they going hand in hand with this developing situation, tyler? >> i think they're continuing to identify things that this administration have done wrong which is not enforce the law.
