wednesday night, the rain is around the ukiah cloverdale area. it starts to slide southward.f the morning commute, heaviest rain is up around cloverdale with a chance of thunder. looks like thunderstorms are a pretty good possibility 7:00 a.m. on thursday. heavy rain, strong winds, stormy conditions. 9:00 a.m., as the cold front is coming through. by 3:00 p.m. thursday, still some pockets of light to moderate rain and then 5:00 p.m. thursday, we are still looking at a wet evening rush hour. 5:00 a.m. friday, rain switches over to showers and we even start to see sun breaking through. 7:00 a.m. it starts to wind down a little bit. we will see snow in the sierra. this does have a cold air component to it. blizzard warning wednesday, 10:00 p.m. until friday, 1:00 p.m. i would not try driving up there. extremely dangerous, whiteout conditions expected. the blizzard warning is for 6,000 feet with gusts 50 to 80 miles an hour, 10 to 20 inches of snow. passes may actually get closed down for several hours, two to three feet is expected at the crest. tomorrow afternoon, 50s, 60s for

little closer here and, whoops i will go in closer here and you will notice around clear lake and cloverdale , we are seeing rain falling right now. lightening up around windsor and santa rosa. that's a lull in the activity. close to an inch has fallen. over an inch and a half in the far end of sonoma county. napa .15 and sfo a trace of an inch. looking at the wind gusts, thisy are just starting to pick up gusting to 38 miles an hour in half moon bay. and i do want to show you this live picture from our sutro tower camera. gusts in the hills are 45 miles an hour. this storm is going to be the strongest in over six years so far. that's the way it is looking with the high risk of urban flooding and mud rockslides and power outages. there is a slight to moderate risk of river flooding. they are coming up to 10 inches of rain. you can see it is right over the north bay. 4:00 a.m. and the north bay is getting pounded by heavy rains, g's a winds and 5:00 a.m. the shift begins during the heart of the morning rush hour. 6:00 a.m. heavy rain and potentially stronger and strong, gusty winds and as you

a lot of folks are saying hey, it's raining in santa rosa, cloverdale, ukiah. that's the rain way ahead of the wind and rain. we have a front that's coming through. usually when we talk about the storm system in the bay area it's the pineapple express that floods us by giving us rainfall for a day or two continuously. that's not the case this time. this will be a thin band of very intense rainfall and wind that's going to get us throughout the day tomorrow. so it's not your typical bay area storm. it's going to be stronger and shaped kind of differently. wind gusts already way ahead i'm talking 12 hours ahead of the worst of the wind gusts close to 40 miles per hour. point reyes and also sea ranch, mount tam 32-mile-per-hour wind gust, sfo 28, half moon bay 26, hayward 23. if that was it, we would say okay, no big deal. that's your average wednesday. but it's going to get much more intense, the rainfall and the wind later on. way ahead of the storm we have rain impacting you in marin county, sonoma county, getting a few emails from vallejo where the rain has be
