this morning new information into the cnn newsroom. this attributed to the dayton daily news.e're finding out the names of one of the 12 that perish said at the guns of james holmes. matt mcquinn was killed, one of the 12 killed there on early friday morning in aurora, co co. his family, like many others of the victims, agonized for hours to find out that he was dead. he died while covering his girlfriend, gary, while shielding her from the bullets at the hands of james holmes. in fact, if you can believe this, the hospital wouldn't confirm his condition to his girlfriend because they are not related. another one of the victims of the four that we have -- that we're hearing among the list of the dead, alex sullivan, who planned to reign in his 27th birthday on friday with that movie the dark knight. he perished. he also planned to celebrate his first year wedding anniversary on sunday. sullivan's uncle describes him as funny, witty, smart, loving with a big heart. you can tell in those photos with his wife. sullivan family released a statement saying the sullivan family lost a

you're in the cnn newsroom. i'm fredricka whitfield. a significant new development in the mass shooting at a colorado theater. the suspect james holmes was seeing a doctor who specializes in schizophrenia. drew griffin is with cnn's special investigations unit. >> according to his attorney in colorado the 24-year-old accused of killing 12 and gunning down dozens of others was seeing a psychiatrist at the time of the shooting. it's a huge development that stems from that package that was mailed to a professor at the university of colorado's aurora campus on monday. according to a motion filed in colorado, just yesterday, that professor was actually james holmes' psychiatrist, dr. lynn fenton the head of student medical health services at the university of colorado's aurora campus and according to holmes' attorney mr. holmes was a psychiatric patient of dr. fenton and his communications with her are protected. that attorney is now trying to get ahold of that package and the contents of which according to cbs news supposedly describe how ho

coming to you live from aurora, colorado you're in the cnn newsroom. speed now on what's happening here in aurora. a community still in deep shock today. the mayor of aurora talked to reporters a few minutes ago. he's been meeting with victims of yesterday's horrific movie theater shooting. this is the mayor. >> one of the people i met with this morning at the hospital was somebody who was hit with buckshot in his back, broken rib, punctured lung, broken collar bone. came out his back at the base of his neck. he is doing well right now, believe it or not. that's because he got to the hospital and because the doctors and nurses at the hospital do the best job that they can do. >> now about the apartment where the suspect, james holmes, lived. police say it was definitely booby trapped, rigged with trip wires and some sort of explosive devices. there is still no all clear from the apartment. ed
