we were out in connecticut. one of the strongest leads they had was a car that was used in this particular attack. clearly somebody bought that car, loaded it with propane and fertilizer and gasoline. the original lead came because of a sticker on the back of the car that was in the direction of the dealership here in the stratford bridgeport, connecticut, area. law enforcement authorities questioned the deal and they go back into the records and track the original owner. and from there, they connected it to various owners. the car changed hands a number of times. we learned that, in fact, the car itself was purchased just three weeks ago on craigslist. as a matter of fact, drew, we want to tell that you we're trying to get to a location we believe may be the home of the person who's in custody. but the car was purchased about three weeks ago on craigslist. authorities were looking over e-mails and telephone calls trying to figure out exactly who the seller may have been. obviously nobody knows if the name they'

i'm peter alexander in bridgeport, connecticut. roughly hour 54 that they arrived here at this home, 202 sheridan street. this is the home where faisal shahzad, the 30-year-old naturalized american citizen, a pakistani born man, had been living with his family, according to authorities. coming up in the course of this next hour we're going to havmzio several interviews. we're going to speak to the representative from roger. he's a former fbi agent. we're going to ask him a bit more about how the team work played into this, the joint terrorism task force, fbi and local police from new york all teaming up to make this arrest in such short order. we'll also visit with bob windrem. he's going to have the latest on the time line and how we got to this point, including questions still being answered today, about how this man who paid for his flight in cash and purchased it at the airport or on the way to the airport mere hours before he was arrested was even allowed to board that flight before it had to taxi and return to the gate before

investigators still at his house in connecticut.ncovered what they say is a lot of evidence. what can we expect? >> reporter: a short time ago we heard from attorney general eric holder who says that faisal shahzad has been cooperating with authorities, and during this questioning since his arrest overnight. and here at the courthouse he is expected to face formal charges that include an act of terrorism as well as thbqqx attempted us weapons of mass destruction as well as explosive charges. as you well know, this case has been going in many different directions in such a short time. it took authorities just over 53 hours to track down their prime suspect. again, his home in bridgeport, connecticut, a possible second home nearby, authorities gleaning more evidence from that home as well as in conversations with him. they're also trying to figure out what, if any, ties he has overseas. he's a pakistani-american who had traveled to pakistan in the past year. tamron? >> michelle, talk to us a little bit about the atmosphere around the

i wanted to go to peter alexander now in connecticut. you've been out there at the house which is still being searched by federal and local officials. what do they know about his family? >> reporter: it's a good question, andrea. we've been here since before the sun rose this morning. investigators were here in the early morning. the local police, the fbi. they went into a house about nine houses down on the left side of this block back here in bridgeport. we were going to get our first chance to walk up to the home in a matter of minutes. that's when agents say they will clear the scene. we have seen them remove evidence. they describe it as possible evidence that has been taken away to a vehicle with six fbi agents. now, there is a second home where faisal shahzad had been living in the past. before that, for three or four years. he was living with his wife and two young children in a home about 20 minutes away in the town ofiéa&n shelton. according to one neighbor who lives next door, she has said that he was odd, to use her words. t
