they called in the contra costa county sheriff's investigators to look at what's going on here. they just opened up this area, there used to be crime tape here and they weren't allowing traffic through this area at the 24-hour fitness in this parking lot. but you can see this across the street here with the red car, you can still see officers here on scene. most of the investigators took off about a half an hour ago. let's look at some of the video from last night. the police captain tells us they first received a call about a man shot at the gym nearby but then found a man with gunshot wounds across the street here on moser lane and kearney. the captain confirms an off-duty san francisco police officer shot the man. the police did not give details on what led up to the shooting. they also did not say whether the officer just got off of work or lives in this area. and police say that the man's gunshot wounds were not life-threatening. they have not yet released the names of the officer involved or the man who was shot. reporting live in el cerrito, i'm sharon katsuda, "today in
