zblt right now we want to update you on a breaking story in contra costa county. manhunt is over on bethel island after the suspect was found dead inside of the car. brian hickey live there on bethel island with all the latest information, brian, what's happening out there? >> contra costa sheriff's department saying it was a self-inflicted wound. not letting anyone out on gateway road. bethel island. they are letting neighbors leave as you see the jeep coming out of the scene. a mile down the road where the crime scene set up. this is how it looked earlier this morning. the search was still ongoing with paramedics arriving on the scene, s.w.a.t. teams arriving on the scene. chp helicopter overhead. after midnight, an officer was attempting to pull the suspect over. the man fled and led to a high-speed chase where eventually this chase ended and told the suspect fired rounds at the deputy. deputy was not injured. one of the rounds did hit his car. that's when they began to search for the suspect and finding him deceased in his car an hour ago. s.w.a.t. team moved
