that says a lot, where we consolidated county jail 3 with now county jail number 4, and we're now almost stretched completely at county jail number 4 because we needed to consolidate based on those conditions that existed, and so that we'd be more efficient and effective with our administration in overtime. and that is really the outcome of us coming together. but what concerns me a little bit about the debate of whether to build a jail or not, not just where we might house the sheriff, but drawing on my experience of 7 years on the budget committee of the board of supervisors is the question of whether to have a jail or not frankly is, in the sequence of criminal justice, almost on the back end of the spectrum of the role of having a jail and incarceration in san francisco. and i'm a little concerned or troubled by what i think are simmering contradictions. it's this government that has just now approved a $165 million bond for a forensic drug and crime lab. what does that portend that when in the last several years we have already had off line a drug and crime lab not working to its ca

and then county jail number 2 ~ has 3 92 rated beds ~. it's a solo indication for women and it houses now both men and women. so, the question is, you know, can we take some of the beds that are in the holding capacity to build rated beds. and do we need the entire 2 98 capacity ~ to cover people who are being arrested every day. i would guess not based on the number of cases that we are seeing. if we converted nonrated beds to rated beds, that would add in and of itself 74 beds to current capacity, which would further decrease the need for replacement jail. and that would take care of the problem that we might have in even, you know, 2019, if we had 250 more people in custody. i also want to note i think having a cushion of jail beds is not a good thing because it disincentive eyeses the use of alternative to incarceration. the other thing i worry about, too, ~ if we have a bunch of empty beds the state could come in and place people in those facilities. and, of course, we would be paid for that, nonetheless, i don't think most san franc

hunterdon county is by it. a few short years after the spca warren county thing, mr.so showed up in the neighboring county in hunterdon county and hired into an actual law enforcement agency as second in command under the newly elected sheriff of hunterdon county. he was hired as an undersheriff and tasked with a job of making sure all the other officers followed the sheriff's rules. the new sheriff who hired him was a republican named deborah trout. when she became the new sheriff of hunterdon county when elected, she made seemingly unusual hiring decisions. in addition to hiring mr. russo fresh off his time at the paramilitary spca, she also hired somebody named greg ezekian as an investigator in the sheriffs office. he had been dismissed from two past jobs at other police departments and according to the local hunterdon newspaper he was fighting a drunk driving conviction at the time he was hired. sheriff trout then hired another investigator named john falat who according to the hunterdon county democrat newspaper had never had any position in any law enforcement

and burtonsville in montgomery county, and the columbia mall is in howard county, and three pivot points in darion aguilar's life on the day of the murderous attack on the mall. 4704 hollywood road, the aguilar home in college park. 5:15 saturday morning, the police say that aguilar tells his mother that he is leaving to walk to the his job at the dunkin' donuts, and aguilar works at the dun kkin' donuts about a mile from the home on the other side of the beltway near the ikea store. aguilar did not show up for work that morning, and instead, he ended up here in burtonsville, and why did he come to burtonsville? did he keep his gun stashed somewhere around here? we don't know for sure. but we do know this, later that morning he took a cab. the destination -- the mall. 10:15 saturday morning. that is the time that police say that aguilar arrived at the mall. he hung out there for about an hour before he began the shooting spree. now, he could is opened fire anywhere in the mall, but he chose the zumiez store for his mu murder scene. zumiez is a clothing store that caters to skater and sno
