county. -- the same in mendocino county.helming. it is a tough thing, but just know that the people up here in the front row have your back. i can tell you from a federal perspective the federal government is moving extremely fast to your benefit and our benefit. right away they approved a federal fire assistant grant which will bring resources into the county. that helps a great deal. as soon as the governor and the counties all declare their area disaster areas, we will move that up to the administration through congress, and congress moved quickly to approve a couple of things. most important is that they approved public assistant grants. that means there will be money coming from the federal government to make sure that all of the local responders have the funds necessary to respond to this disaster. that is extremely important. now in the mix is also individual grants. that is what we will see happen as we get this fire out and start moving to recovery. another of people who have been affected by the fire will be able t

half of napa county. i am here to address the issue of the tubbs fire which started in the area outside of calistoga, went to sonoma and then a flare up resulting in the mandatory evacuation of the entire city of calistoga early wednesday morning. the tubbs fire is over 35,000 acres burned. the good news is that it is 10% contain which is an improvement. cal fire and all the resources are coming from all over and doing a great job at keeping the fire away from the city of calistoga. it is not a sure thing but they are doing a great job, and they are feeling positive about the effort. that being said, the city of calistoga, the surrounding unincorporated area is under mandatory evacuation. we ask that people not go there. there are a few residents remaining and we are asking that they leave the city so that the law enforcement, safety personnel and firefighters can do their job. for the calistoga inns evacuated -- calistogans the shelters are the napa college and the american canyon high school at 3000 new

we have closures in sonoma county. napa county. most of the heavy closures are not on the freeways, in fact highway 37 is open. have a lot of closures in sonoma and napa county. one of the major ones is sonoma highway 12 between sonoma and santa rosa. you can get around but there are a lot of detours. highway 128 in napa county and portions of roads off the trail , silverado trail area. highway 101 is open but a lot of offramp's are closed. hopper, river, mendocino, those exits are closed because of fire activity just off the freeway. this is where the heaviest fire concentration was. you will see slow traffic. have not had a real commute from santa rosa heading south to novato. this is a look at the east bay. we have a real commute here taking about an hour. the toll plaza another 20 minutes. if you're looking at the south bay, this is to 80, all the freeways are slow into the west valley. we haven't heard a lot of crashes, but we have had a lot of slow traffic getting into the south bay. index 07. -- 8:07. >>> we go now to napa,
