captain craig anderson from the department of public safety just came out of the station.tell me what happened. when did this start? we heard it was a reported home invasion. is that true? >> last night around 11:45 we received a call regarding a robbery that occurred inside a residence on the 200 block of north matilda avenue. when officers went out there to talk to the victim he said two hispanic males had basically confronted him inside of his apartment. one with a handgun. one shot was fired from the handgun, and the two suspects fled with his laptop. >> reporter: and then how did this turn into a police pursuit all the way down to san jose? >> so in response to that call we began to search for the suspects and also got the assistance from san jose police and their air 2 unit. as that tseng was going on, i'd say an hour later we received an additional call of another call for service on an auto burglary a half half mile to three-quarters of a mile away. the interesting thing about that call was the suspect description was very similar it the suspects in our robbery. th
