abc2's charley crowson is downtown with more on just how much longer we will have to deal with this issue. good morning, charley. >> reporter: well, good morning. aid big mess and as you said,-- it's a big mess and as you said it's going to last three moreweeks. this is the crux of the problem. two water main lines, one of them a 20 inch pipe about 1914 the date on that one. another one into the 1880s. very old pipes. they just have given way to the time of wear and tear over the years. what the city has done trying to get people back up and running. see the plastic pipes pvc pipes two. one on east side and one on the west side of the street trying to get water restored down here. but as a result of the work, a number of blocks have been closed from baltimore down to

know the city plans to replace two lines something that is going to take three weeks and charley crowson is live with the work being done on light street. this is going to be a mess because there's so many plans to go downtown over the next three weeks including this weekend with artscape. >> reporter: that's coming up this weekend. people may begin to change their plans. the two lines being replaced this is the ground zero issue of this massive hole on light street. crews not out right now and willcome out as the morning progresses to get the two lines replaced. one of the lines more than a century old. now today on the agenda, for the board of estimates meeting, there's an item for the bureau of waste water and water. this is a group in charge of getting things like this fixed including working on water treatment plants. the request is for 30,000 dollars to work on emergency repairs, things like this but work on light street is continuing two lines are being replaced. you talked about that and this is going to take a number of weeks to get repaired. right now, we are being told it's go

good morning maryland, i'm charley crowson. megan pringle is off today. we will get to weather and traffic in a moment. a man who opened fire inside a colorado theater returns to court today. yis expected today i involving james holmes. >> reporter: in a few hours we will hear é&the charges filed against holmes for the first time as the victims are dealing with more heart break. the prosecution is expected to lay down the hammer on 24-year- old james holmes ten days after the movie theater massacre. at his arraignment he could case 12 counts of first degree murder, 58 counts of attempted murder, along with first degree assault and reckless endangerment for the explosives found in his apartment. >> i don't care what your motive is, he knew what he was doing. >> reporter: ashley's stepmother says she will be in the couple, she lost her 6-year- old daughter in a shooting spree and was shot several times and suffered a miscarriage. >> it was because of stress and trauma. >> reporter: some of the victims families buried loved ones over the weekend. at the cent
