in the teens out to the west of sues in parts of petersburg and cumberland. so here's what we're talking about. we're talking about the possibility of snow tomorrow. by tomorrow morning we'll have have the clouds coming in. also, when you see this blue that is the light snow. by tomorrow afternoon, right around 3:00. this could probably impact your evening commute tomorrow. the roads could be slick as well. as far as the accumulations, not a whole lot. we're going to start with the southwest. culpeper, about .03 of accumulation. maybe a dusting in most areas. for d.c. metro we're talking around half an inch, at most up to an inch. by friday we should not be dealing with too much snow here. it's mostly an event for thursday. so here's your three-day forecast. windy today at times, still sunny. then thursday, cloudy conditions, increasing clouds for the morning, and snow likely, light snow, but it could impact your driving, especially for tomorrow's commute in the inc. 30 degrees the high. friday sunshine, and we're going to bump temperatures up a little bit up

cumberland and petersburg are only 19. wind chill in cumberland is 4.in winchester is six. feels like seven in gaithersburg. and here in washington, our wind chill is running at 13 degrees in in spite of the 26. we have a sustained wind at 17 miles an hour. it is really tough to be outside without a lot of protective gear. temperatures, the arctic stuff, here it is. you see it in canada to the gulf coast where atlanta is 27. new orleans 25. 24 in panama city beach this morning, believe it or not. raleigh 30. in the southwest not bad with phoenix in the 60s. the jet stream coming to the northwest, dipping in the middle of the country. this will take a disturbance across the south in the short term but it will also bring another storm across the region and try to lift one out of the gulf of mexico as we head in to the late saturday night, sunday time frame. and that guy has a chance to be appreciable. short time we have the mountain snows here. we will say clear to partly cloudy tonight. a cold 19 to around 20 and high pressure tomorrow builds in. winds d

we do have 30 in cumberland, 20 in elkton.atures all over the place but nowhere are they above freezing right now. we're only going up to 35 area wide. calm readings as far as the winds. they're variable right now, but they will eventually start to uniformly come in from the northwest. that's going to help suppress our temperatures again, keeping them well below the average of the mid-40s. 45 is our average high. keep in mind this time last year, while we're dealing with the cold now, this time last year we were dealing with a 20-inch snowfall that shut things down for much of the christmas holiday. we're not dealing with anything like that. this storm has the potential to do that, but it is being pushed out to sea now. low pressure to our north and high pressure just offshore helping to steer the winds and we'll be seeing most of that activity moving off to the atlantic. so the lower eastern shore could be brushed by that. the rest of us, if we see trace amounts at all, that will be all we see. we are not going to be dealing

we have 12 degrees in oakland. 27 in couple about -- cumberland. when freezing is the warmest spot on your map, you know you have a cold forecast. our winds are also contributing to the wind chills. winds have subsided a little. it's breezy enough that this gets your attention. 22 at elkton, 18-mile-an-hour winds at reagan national. we've seen wind gusts, 25 in washington. that has been contributing to wind chills feeling like five to 10 below the average temperature. with all that we do have a storm system moving in place. we are going to see a snow advisory going into effect. a winter weather advisory all the way to virginia. that is because of the storm system moving in our direction. it will track primarily to the south. it's taking a deep. it will take a southerly path. we'll be on the northern fringe. we could she coating to maybe an -- see a coating to maybe an inch of storm. virginia, west virginia, the carolinas, an icy mix. this will set the stage for another disturbance moving in by the weekend. there are a lot of questions with both of

teens in cumberland and 5 degrees in oakland. look how dry the air is. the wind chill 10 degrees is what it feels like in baltimore. north and with the of that single digits and below zero, minus 1 4 in oakland. feels like 16 down at the ocean. here's the cold air. it's going to stick around for awhile. this is a pattern that we're in. there's no major storm the next two days but we're still connected with the lakes. so flurries flying today. after that it gets cut off. a new storm system will move our way on thursday. most of this will pass off to the south. there are a couple of questions. the northern fringe will move into cold air. we can see light snow. then we're set in a pattern. it's interesting. there's a lot of cold air. there is the potential for one or two of the storms to get bigger. so something we will be monitoring because we really know it affects everyone. so stay tuned. as far as the forecast, out on the water gale warnings in effect. flurries possible. 30 for our high, probably not getting above freezing. tonight down to 18. tomorrow

same with cumberland and now until 9:00 p.m. tonight. richmond and charlottesville, winter storm warnings down there. the snow is moving in. you can see the light blue. that is the light snow. and then the darker blue colors, this is where it's picking up the more accumulating snow, if you will. and some of this is locally on the moderate side. this is light to moderate. this isn't heavy snow but light to occasionally moderate. live doppler 9000 hd, we'll take you outside and you can see the darker blue bands with the light he snow in frederick and carroll county, down into southern maryland and virginia. the northern neck having some snow. and we'll check in anne in a moment, but light snow here and there. and one band north and south at this time. this darker blue shade, and we may be looking at half an inch an hour, not a tremendous snow, but this will cause problems in the rural areas from columbia over to damascus, especially if it's treated. sidewalks, driveways will be slippery because everything is sticking. now north of 71, up a

temperatures are cool enough, especially to the cumberland area. annapolis is at 42 degrees.ou can tell exactly where this is located. is 18 degrees in detroit. look at boston at 52 degrees for that 11:00 p.m. temperature. this system is really beginning to wind up. it will stall to the north of us. we can see scattered snow showers for the overnight hours. as the cold air settles in, tomorrow, we could see additional snow showers. some snow showers may produce a light dusting of snow. do not be caught off guard. off to the west of us, that is where we have the heavier snow developing at this time. that is where the winter storm warning remains for western maryland. this is for the overnight hours and into tomorrow and tuesday. you could be looking at 6 inches to 12 inches of snow. this snow will finally moved out here. by tuesday, there will be strong westerly wind. the wind chill factor will be in the lower-teens. it will settle down by wednesday. for the day tomorrow, it will be a cold day with temperatures not moving a whole lot, holding in the middle-to-lower 30's. our t

when you factor the winds that are blowing, already teens in cumberland. we will find teens in our area. higher terrains will have single digit wind chills much like pittsburgh and cleveland. heavy amounts of snow moved in to the upper mel, minneapolis 18 to 24 inches. chicago had over 1,000 flights cancelled. the lake affect snow machine will kick up in full force this week where they will measure the snow by feet. again, from around erie to buffalo, cleveland, too. you can see the back edge of the precipitation now is sliding in to the area. what you see to the west in west virginia will stay there. after this little batch moves through, it's possible we will have a few flurries throughout the day and even this evening. tomorrow it is possible. if enough moisture get over the mountain you could encounter a burst where it looks like five to ten minutes it's coming down. just like this morning but in most cases this morning's snowfall will be more intense than anything in the next couple of days. use caution but you can see how the computer models want to

we are only getting into the mid-30s today. 30.06 is your barometer. 32 in cumberland. temperatures stay around the freezing range at elkton. 33 on the shore. those winds coming in from the northwest keeping that flow of arctic air rolling in through canada. look at temperatures towards bismarck, minneapolis, chicago, all in the teens. 26 in detroit, which is the closest reading to our northwest. we're on the edge of the cooler air. the problem we're having with trying to assess what's going on with sunday and saturday night, computer models are bringing it up across the coastline. there's nothing formed. we're trying to keep an eye on what's developed and determine a path. right now there's nothing in place. late tomorrow night we could likely see clouds increasing and light snow showers. they could move along the eastern coast -- east coast and eastern seaboard before they move on out. the problem is how close will it get and how much snow will it dump on any portion of our viewing area east of the 94 corridor. the key is it's going to be cold no matter how you slice.
