prosecutors have filed misdemeanor campaign finance charges against the former chairman of the d.c. city council. he resigned amid accusations he lied on financial applications for a home equity loan. bruce johnson has been following the story from the very beginning and joins us now from the wilson building with more information. what are you hearing, bruce? >> reporter: jc, yesterday was the big charge, a felony, bank fraud. today it's a misdemeanor, one count, one charge, unlawful cash campaign expenditure aiding and abetting. to summarize what we v they're charging kwame brown allowed his brother to set up and outside account. jay brown had no official standing with the campaign but allowed him to set up an outside account and then to make expenditures from that account. that's illegal. one misdemeanor count kwame brown has agreed to plead guilty to that. that will be decided in d.c. supreme court, not federal court. back in january specifically on our set i asked kwame brown how the federal investigation into his 2008 campaign would turn out. here's would he said. >> when you say it
