i'm dan ashley. >> i'm carolyn johnson. leila fowler was stabbed to death in her home in valley springs east of stockton in calaveras county. tonight we hear from her heart broken family. john alston is live in valley springs for us. john? >> carolyn, more than a thousand people showed up here , 10 bus loads of people and others found other ways to arrive. the family of leila fowler was here and just about everywhere they turned they were met with hugs. leila fowler's family turned to each other for support and they felt the embrace of a thousand community members who turned out to celebrate the life of the eight-year-old girl. her older brother, justin, was the first family member to speak. >> i am not saying goodbye to leila. i will stacey you later. i will say see you later. >> throughout the ceremony he comforted his 12-year-old brother, the one who was home on saturday and first reported the attack against his sister. leila's mother mustered the strength to speak briefly. >> i wanted to thank the community and our fami

. >> i'm dan ashley. the fire that broke out is on coyote road and continental drive. this morning there was another grass fire not far away on singleton road. ama is live on the scene of tonight's fire. ama? >> dan, tonight's fire is contained. it was really hard to spot, but as you can take a look from the video that we have shot, there was lots of fire engines on scene. it was a two-alarm fire. like i said, it was contained, but it was in heavy brush and hard to see. it was hard for the firefighters to get to. they say they will be on scene for several more hours cutting through the brush to make sure that the fire does not start back up. cal fire is out here helping them as well. no structures were threatened and no one was injured. the fire earlier spread quickly because of the winds today. it started in a filed at singleton road and locke drive just before noon. it shows winds driving the smoke into an adjacent neighborhood. the fire spread to seven acres before firefighters were able to contain it. the public education officer i spoke to on this scene says with
