i'm dan ashley. this is the second of three closures this year for major construction repair. let's show you the area we're talking about. the closure includes northbound 280 all the way into the city. abc 7 news reporter is live with more on the story. >> reporter: dan, we saw these crews out here shutting down this onramp at indiana and 25th ten minutes ago. earlier than anticipated. this stretch will be closed until 5: 00 am monday morning that will cause traffic problems on a potentially busy 4th of july weekend. this is the section that will be repaired. you can see pretty large portions of the joining hinge are crumbling away. cal trans says that's the result of five decades of regular wear and tear by more than 100,000 cars and trucks driving over it. the stretch survived an earthquake in 198 9 and since been retro fitted. this work is needed to keep it up to code. the shut down will mean drivers have to squeeze on 101 to get north into the city or use other routes. >> if you have to drive, allow yourself a lot of extra time, take an alternate rude oute and expect delay
