i'm dan shaffer. breaking overnight, america mourning the loss of florence henderson. she played the cheerful, understanding carol brady in the show the brady bunch. that show is about a blended family. it first aired in 1969 and then seen of course in endless reruns. she died while surrounded by family and friends on thanksgiving day.
