let's head over to meteorologist darren peck in for paul to tell us when things are going to get better. what did you say, saturday? >> saturday. saturday is going to get better, but we still need to take this seriously the rest of today and into tomorrow. i'll show you why. i've got an update to the map we showed you which did have mainly yellow on there for moderate across most of the bay. that's the scene from the top of mount diablo looking over inland contra costa county. the official epa sensor there just went into unhealthy for sensitive groups. all the rest of the official monitors are moderate. there's a number of sources for air quality information. the epa is the best one. you can also use the low cost sensors. you're probably familiar with purple air. here's what those say. there's a lot more of them. they update more frequently and most of them are unhealthy for sensitive groups now. here's the takeaway. the rest of today and tomorrow we still have an air quality advisory. it will be a little better technically, yes, but we aren't out of this. the next two days take it just

darren. >> we do. for today, we're going to be below average. we're going to stay below average for like the whole 7 day forecast. but it's not like we have a cold snap. it's not like it's going to be cold. but the temperatures are going to struggle to get into the low 80s today. let's start out by taking a look at the scene over the santa clara valley. that is the view of the clear morning. we're not dealing with any marine layer. no fog out there and that's a transition. more regularly when we get into fall and we start saying to the marine layer as like an everyday feature for us. if we look at the visibility you can see for ten miles pretty much everywhere we go. several different item we can put on here. one of which is to display where the fog is. but there's no fog this morning. the as a result for half-moon bay is down to five miles. that'd be pretty typical -- satellite is not even detecting fog out there. nothing to show. but the visibility along the coast is always going to be a little bit lower, all right, that's the story on the map

darren? >>> air quality will get better. take a look across the next five days, it is good air quality from sunday to monday. saturday, we still have some residual left over smoke. it will not be as bad as it has been. but there will be enough that the air quality district has expanded that spare the air until saturday. this one is going to deliver widespread rain through much of the pacific northwest. and it is enough that we get some of it. the storm does have an atmospheric river fueling it. that is going a little too far north for us to experience that side of the storm. that means that the smith river complex fire that has been producing the smoke is going to have a large amount of raindrops on it, and that pretty much ends our risk and vulnerability to more smoke from it. it might put the fire out entirely even. the smoke will not be an issue anymore. all right. let us look at the long-range forecast. monday into tuesday, there are some showers that to hold together to bring some rain to sonoma county. maybe even into
