news chopper 2 overhead, pam and dave.outhbound 280 at 380 looks like this crash is blocking the transition lane. looks like they're trying to let some cars through. now this is on 280 right at the 380 transition and still have two lanes blocked with paramedics and fire on the scene. reported to be nonlife threatening injuries. in other words these people are not going to be in danger of, well, having life threatening injuries i guess, but traffic is slow already trying to get to 380. if you're taking 280 out of the city to get to the airport want to take 380 i would rethink that right now and start taking 101 if you can because you can see as news chopper 2 tilts up for us the back up on 280 is now stretching into daly city. so this is going to be an unexpected bad commute coming down to san bruno out of south city. let's move along and take a look at the westbound bay bridge. that is backed up from the macarthur maze and the metering lights are on. it's about a 15 minute wait. and if you're driving on the east bay commut

there was speculation that dave which a network. gene and i were guests on the letterman show that very evening that was scheduled to be announced. that we didn't discuss it with them. indeed, we never discussed anything with them. apart from two occasions, leno albertini circulated among dressing rooms chatting with all his guests before a show. but letterman never did. that wasn't because he didn't like us. in fact, be for genes that we actually held the record for most appearances on his show. my guess is dave waited for the starting gun at the beginning of every show and didn't believe in dissipating his energy before the red light went on. leno on the other hand like to be everybody's friend. he genuinely did like the movies. he was obsessed by them, in fact. and in the dressing room before the show he would debate our latest reviews and usually find fault with them. talk show guests are preempted by a writer, and the host is on with notecards suggesting questions and the expected answers. you guys are the ideal guests, leno's

i'm dave ross and think of this.the last month alone we have seen jim larranaga leave george mason after 14 years at the helm. karl hobbs was dispatched after 10 years at gw and today the biggest bombshell of them all. gary williams says good-bye to maryland after 22 seasons and for the last time as head coach gary williams walked onto a court that will soon be named after him and threw his fists in the air as he's done so many years before. in front of a chanting crowd, friends and family he held his final farewell at the comcast center. he walks away from a 33 year coaching career including the 2002 national title and national coach of the year honor and williams leaves his alma mater in much better shape than when he found it. >> i ran a clean program. we won a national championship, but i think the most important thing is that we were able to take a program that was probably as down as any program in the country and get it back to the level necessary to win a national championship. >> now how popular a coach and
