we begin to light up along the shoreline until 3:00 in the afternoon very strong cells from davenport to the san mateo county coastline up through marin and sonoma. it's by the intersection of the road at 121 and 12 where you take a left hand turn to go into the sonoma city hall at broadway. got the road closed out there until this sub sides. rainfall past 24 hours we're saying 1 1/2 inches in san francisco, .69-inch in san jose, san rafael almost 3 inches of rain. that's beginning to creep up to where we had it last thursday, 1 1/2 inches in petaluma and more rain over marin county. tonight the next 24 hours another inch coming down in the south bay with more in the santa cruz mountains. so a rainy day by midday tomorrow develops. wednesday we get lingering thursday. thursday is mostly cloudy skies and then we'll get a break with finally some drying out after a weak system on friday. after all this it looks as if we'll finally go to an extended dry period beginning on saturday. christmas looks dry. >> good. i'd probably cast you as a meteorologist. >> the only reason i said that, too

here is davenport, san jose and scattered activity. boy we had some fog to contend with. highway 1, scotts valley. we still have scattered showers. here is 580. just east of pleasanton. looking at some wet weather. check out the fog in the north bay. you saw it on the golden gate bridge earlier. doing better in the south bay but we co-do have the southerly winds. we had a nice view earlier but the fog and clouds blowing through. it's 58 in san francisco as well as san jose. sop another mild system has been passed and we have yet another one on its heels. most of the activity to the west and scattered showers in the south bay. the low cloud deck here shows it is a pretty great start to the day. half an inch of rain. a little more than that at the airport. not too shaby with four tenths. a quarter of an inch and nearly two inches of rain. so some of these areas picked up some heavier precipitation. we could see more north bay rain tomorrow heavy rain heads our way wednesday, thursday, possibly into the weekend. they picked up nearly four inches of rain. another warm system.
