. >> david druker and matt mccove yak and cynthia tucker, all joining me now. e jobs numbers but david. what we're looking at is an economy either stalled or going backwards. and very few options for the president. this is a field day for republicans. >> well, look, all of this is about expectations and what i find interesting is that 117,000 jobs created when need more than 250,000 a month to actually do something about unemployment, is considered good news. because the expectations were so much worse. for the president, he's in a tough spot. i often find over the years presidents get more credit and more blame than they deserve. and there's very little he can do about this except try and put into policies -- put in place policy that's can create an atmosphere for job creation. i think he'll have a tough time making a dent in the unemployment rate between now and next summer and that's a huge problem for his re-election. >> the news for republicans is that they -- it's almost a free shot for them, matt, if you're a republican strategist on any of these campaign
