david shuster has the day off. live picture l.a.x., involves a flight to new york which has been delayed indefinitely from taking off. we're told it is because a passenger got up while the plane was taxiing to the runway. a flight attendant told the passenger to sit down. that passenger said he needed to use the restroom and went in the restroom and closed the door. after a minute according to the report, he returned to his seat. now, flight attendant then went to that restroom and found apparently what's being described as a panel removed. the panel returned to the gate where police removed the passenger. two other men thought to be traveling with that individual were also removed from the plane. passengers are back in the terminal for rescreening. other passengers on board heard apparently, according, again, to reports heard the suspect and two others removing -- speaking arabic. this is, again, the reports coming out from this early on. we're told the fbi is taking over the investigation. we're going to continue

i'm david shuster, sitting in for keith olbermann. are five health care bills in congress, three in the house, two in the senate, four have made it through committee so far. all of them include a public option that would let americans choose a government health care plan instead of a plan run by private insurance companies interested in maximizing profits. today in our fifth story on the "countdown," the one committee seen as having the best shot at enacting its vision of health care into law took up the public option and shot it down. the smoking gun was in the hands of democrats. the senate finance committee had two versions of the public option to consider today. one of them from west virginia senator jay rockefeller would have cost the drug companies billions of dollars by paying less for drugs. the other from new york's chuck schumer opened the drug prices up for negotiation among other concessions. rockefeller's version was first out of the gate. republicans, led by ranking member chuck grassley, raised a number of options. one,
