"eyewitness news" reporter david spunt tells us the families of the victims continue to demand answers>> reporter: what was 32-year-old brandon bostian doing just before the train he engineered crashed? the derailment killed eight and injured more than 200. >> we have determined that there was no talking or texting or data usage involved. >> reporter: according to a new report put out by the ntsb there's no evidence bostian tapped into the train's wi-fi system while he was engineering the locomotive. investigators still hinted bostian still may have used his phone in other ways. ways that don't require an internet connection. >> things like use of an app or other use of the phone have not been determine. >> reporter: 32-year-old has not been heard from since the crash but those representing the victims have been out in the open. >> we've another client in critical condition. >> reporter: philadelphia attorney larry firm represents 12 passengers injured on the train. records indicate the train piqued at 106 miles an hour before derailing that's more than twice the posted speed limit. >>

. >> our david spunt is live with the aftermath in white hall township lehigh county tonight. david, what can you tell us. >> reporter: whatever this was, it was in and out of here. check out this roof, right here, this collapsed luckily nobody was hurt but we did speak to the woman inside at hopson and poplar in white hall township. we were told 2,000 people are out of power. there is a state of emergency declared. that is according to the mayor in whitehall township. listen to this woman inside this home when it happen. she just made it inside. lets take a listen. >> i was peeking outside with my dad and we saw patio furniture walking across the porch and as we thought we were going to grab it we saw the wind were stronger so we went in and ran down in the basement and a few seconds later heard loud crash with the roof coming down. >> reporter: across the street here you can see this tree. i spoke to the owner and he says he plant that had tree 43 years ago when he moved in the area. this is what we are seeing trees down, luckily that is only major roof collapse we have seen.

in philadelphia, david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> well, the manhunt continues for two convicted killers who escaped an upstate new york prison tonight. a correction officer there has been put on leave but the officer's name has not been released. earlier dat u.s. marshall service added richard matt and david sweat to its list of the 15 most wanted. they also offered a $50,000 reward for information that leads to their capture. the two used power tools to break out of that prison back on june 6th. a prison worker, joyce mitchell, was charged last week with helping those men escape. >>> new tonight, the rehoboth beach board of commissioners has unanimously rejected a controversial plan that would keep shore renters from using pools or hot tubs. a proposal would have required homeowners to cover and lock their pools and hot tubs when that beach property was rented out. the city's mayor proposed that measure as a way to get a handle on noise complaints. while voting down that measure tonight the boy did vote to require homeowners to register their pools with the city. >>> major play
